SERVICE MESHES EXPLAINED
A Service Mesh is a dedicated layer of infrastructure facilitating the service-to-service communication between your microservices. The advantage of using a Service Mesh rather than another solution for this purpose, is that you can control, secure and observe these communications in a very fine grained way.
Service Meshes can bring great benefits to your deployed microservices if your microservice architecture is mature enough for it.
In this 2- hour virtual class on July 29th at 7 PM CEST by Pascal van Dam, you will learn to recognize the time to start using Service Mashes and how to choose one. You will also be introduced to the 2 most popular Service Meshes: Istio and Linkerd and learn what they try to solve and how to use these.
AFTER THIS CLASS YOU KNOW
- What a Service Mesh is and which problems it solves.
- Which Service Meshes are available and how to make a choice.
- How to install and maintain Linkerd.
- How to install and maintain Istio.
- The pro’s and con’s of Linkerd vs. Istio.
